Is mangosteen good for diabetics?

I was recently diagnosed with diabetes I am a 25 year old female who is significantly overweight. I take Metformin and Glyburide and sometimes insulin shots. (They are going back and forth between Type 1 and 2 they are uncertain still of what I am because my weight leans to 2 but my age somehow makes them think 1.) I went DKA 2 months ago since then I have lost more than 50 pounds and I am trying to save myself from the terrible problems that arise with having the disease. (blindness, kidney failure etc.) My grandmother recently told me a friend of her’s who has diabetes is taking mangosteen juice and is having great results , Anyone ever tried it ? Or heard anything about it ? I have looked it up but all I am really getting is that it is being studied and there are nothing yet out about its benefits other than testimonials.
