Can anybody tell me about the effects of mangosteen?

1) Where it grows, how it tastes, what it looks like, how it’s classified, etc.
2) That it’s a miracle cure for things like cancer, and this information is almost always on a website selling some form of it (as a “health drink”) usually.

Mangosteen is a fruit that grows in the tropics, like Thailand and the Philippines. It is almost round, with a purple-colored skin.
Mangosteen has Xanthone. and is said to be useful in cleansing the body of toxins (detoxifying element). In that sense. But there have been no clinical studies to prove that it cures cancer. At best, xanthone helps in making the skin brighter.
